Government of Assam on Thursday declared early Summer Vacation for
schools in view of the COVID-19 situation in the state.
As per the official notification issued by Assam Secondary Education
Department, summer vacation in schools which was scheduled from 1st July
to 31st July, 2021 as per the academic calendar is now scheduled from 15th
May to 14th June, 2021.
“Considering the fact that in view of COVID-19 situation in the state
of Assam and Educational Institutions being closed as on date and with
the objective of ensuring that the students of Elementary, Secondary and
Sr. Secondary Schools (Class 1 to 12) do not suffer from any academic
loss and therefore, it is decided that the summer vacation in schools
scheduled from 1st July to 31st July, 2021 as per the academic calendar,
is hereby scheduled from 15th May to 14th June, 2021,”
the order issued by Principal Secretary of Education Department
stated.
The decision has been taken with the objective of ensuring that students
of Class 1 to 12 do not suffer from any academic loss.
